A Pakistani technology company TPS has developed a talking Automated Teller Machine (ATM) for assisting people who are blind or have low vision, telecom and IT news website ProPakistani reported on Tuesday.
TPS has come up with VIP (visually impaired customer) CASH ATM feature to enable banks in assisting people who are blind or have low vision.
The ATM machines with VIP CASH service feature an audio port where the user inserts an audio plug to listen to the voiceover for every action during a cash transaction or balance inquiry.
The talking ATM has been installed in the branches of Standard Chartered Bank.
More than 2 million people are living with vision disabilities in Pakistan, half of which reside in urban areas.
