ATTENTION:
[1] Job seekers or freelancers with disabilities who are open to taking on a 3- or 4-month remote contract, and
[2] Employers or solopreneurs who can use the services of a talented remote freelancer for 3 or 4 months.
Make A Change Canada has received funding from the Government of Canada through the Opportunities Fund to provide financial support to employers looking to hire individuals with disabilities to do remote work.
They are providing employers with 100% wage subsidies for up to 20 weeks that must end by March 31, 2021.
Funding is also available for equipping participants with the remote technology (an ‘office in a box’) to meet the technical needs of the employer.
The program will also support employers with current employees that could benefit from technology upgrades/retrofitting.
Make A Change Canada will work with clients to assess their skills and abilities as well as determine the specific needs of the employer to facilitate a match that provides the opportunity for positive outcomes for both.
The funding is not on a sliding, diminishing scale and there is no obligation for the employer to hire at the end of the placement. Employers can provide a valuable work experience placement or look for a client that can work on a specific project. The Employment Specialists will work closely with both clients and employers.
This project is currently under way and funding is available to support employers &
clients through to March 31, 2021. All work experience placements must be completed by that date.
