About Trish

As a coach, my passion in life is to motivate and empower people to unleash their full potential. My goal is to help them define and achieve their maximum life in spite of a chronic health condition that challenges them on a daily basis. My instinctive ability to see assets in people and reflect those assets back to them, enables my clients to see themselves in a more positive light.

I have a wide range of experiences in the world of business and social services. I've been a credit manager, a computer specialist, an administrator, an entrepreneur, a volunteer coordinator, and a strong advocate for people affected by multiple sclerosis.

As a person with multiple sclerosis myself, I bring a personal commitment to the work I do. I have learned how to keep the MS at bay, for the most part, through profound lifestyle changes and by minimizing stress and its effects on my life.

I’ve been volunteering for the MS Society of Canada since shortly after my diagnosis in 1993. They trained me in supportive counselling and self-advocacy and social action. As part of my efforts to cope with this disease, I've been providing coaching and supportive counselling for over a decade now to people with multiple sclerosis.

I have also battled depression for the better part of two decades. It's never easy but through a high level of self-awareness, proper treatment and a healthy attitude I have managed to live a very joyful and rewarding life.

Since 1997 I've been working to improve transportation for people with disabilities in my community. Advocating for others is something that comes naturally to me.

My proven ability to manage conflict and stress, facilitate change and set appropriate and achievable goals, as well as my varied career background working with and advocating for people with disabilities makes me ideally suited to coach others through their life and vocational transitions.

I invite you to get to know me better by checking out my Resume, my Personal Mission Statement and The Full Story. Once you've read these documents, you'll have a much clearer idea of where I'm coming from and whether we're likely to work well together.

Organizations that I belong to include:

Another of my community involvements is The York Region Accessibility Advisory Committee. Through this appointment in 2002, I have had the honour of being part of the process of identifying, removing and preventing barriers for people with disabilities in York Region, Ontario.
